THE Tower Of Hell logo as of September 15, 2018

THE Tower of Hell, or TToH for short, is YXCeptional Studios’ second game. It is exactly like the original Tower of Hell, but players must complete every section in the game instead of just 6-12 in a set order.

Information

"This isn't just any normal Tower of Hell but THE Tower of Hell containing all 169 sections in a single tower. You can take on the challenge of beating all of them here but you will fail anyway." -Game description

As mentioned above, players must complete every section in the original Tower of Hell without dying once. There is no timer, which means players can take as much time as they need to complete the tower.

WARNING: Tower of Hell admin, Circa1987 has stated that the red halo is unobtainable, and may stay that way. All runs that were done after the initial announcement (game description) will not be counted for growing concerns for pre-recorded gameplay. This message will be removed when it is obtainable again.

If players proceed to complete all 169 sections, they would have to send their recording of them beating it to the YXCeptional discord server. Once approved, they would receive the "Certified Beast" badge and a red halo in Tower of Hell.

In case a winner does not record their run, THE Tower of Hell features a built-in "recorder" that will attempt to log down the run of anybody who completes the tower. If the carpet next to the portal changes color, the recording was successful. However, all in-game recordings will be lost if the game updates, so it's best that players record the run themselves using third-party software.

To get the red halo before it became unobtainable you would need to have a log from the in-game recorder, outside evidence according to Pyxl can't be trusted as it could be spliced together.

On September 8, 2019, the hitboxes were changed to become static for all Tower of Hell games, making THE Tower of Hell significantly easier.

List of Sections

(Accurate as of Conveyor Update, April 23rd, 2020)

Tips

  • Since there is no timer in the game, don’t rush through the sections. Take your time so you don’t die or fall.
    • Rushing may cause you to slip off a platform or mistime a jump.
  • Shortcuts should not be attempted if they are more dangerous than the intended route.
  • If you're unlucky, you may be lagging when you play the game. So you have to wait until the lag fades away.
  • Remember to relax every so often. Taking a breather every ten sections or after very hard (Insane) sections is highly recommended. This may help lower the anxiety from being very high up and boost your confidence.
  • Don't lose focus! You will probably die if you start obbying absent-minded. Stay alert, and avoid all killbricks.
  • Look down occasionally and plan ahead. If a jump is hard, look for a safe place to catch yourself below just in case you mess up.
  • Watch out for the transition from Life on The Edge to Blender (138 to 139) as it is possible to jump straight into the blender and die if you aren't careful at the end.
  • Some sections with moving objects, such as Close Shave and Powerline, are prone to desync in TToH, it is recommended to look carefully at these before trying them.
  • A fall is always better than dying. It's better to lose some progress than have to start all over again.
  • If you think you can beat THE Tower of Hell, never give up!

Badges

As mentioned before, the badge “Certified Beast” is obtained by touching the door after completing the tower. However, exploiters ruined the badge rarity by exploiting to the top.

On September 7, 2019, PyxlDev, the creator of THE Tower of Hell, reset the number of people who have the badge to one (the one person being himself) so the evidence of exploiters getting the badge is gone. However, this did remove the people that legitimately completely the tower.

On September 10, 2019, MuchWowTACOS was the first-ever person to complete the tower after the badge reset. However, according to him, you do not get the badge from touching the door anymore, to prevent exploiters from getting the badge illegitimately.

On March 23, 2020, PyxlDev created a brand new Certified Beast badge and renamed the old one to “Degrading Beast”, then to “Nothing”, then removed shortly after. He did this because he felt like some winners didn’t deserve the badge, and he couldn’t remove the original badge from people’s inventories, so he had to do it that way.

Since February 11th, 2020, many more people have gotten the badge (see below).

Sometime in June of 2020, the Certified Beast badge was made unobtainable. The reason is confidential.

Sometime in the middle of August 2020, the game's description was changed to say "The badge is unobtainable indefinitely" implying the red halo may not return.

Trivia

  • Meta_data (formerly known as LotsOfViolence) is the first legit person to complete the tower, as shown in his video.
    • At that time on September 22, 2018, there were only 72 sections in TToH, which had less than the half the current number of sections.
    • Meta is an administrator on a Roblox clone called Brickhill, he goes under the name Dragonian and is the head of the site’s security.
    • Meta's video has since soared to over 7 million views as of March 20, 2019.
  • The section Secret Agent was originally near the end of the tower, but it was changed to section #33 for an unknown reason.
  • As of around September 7, 2019, a YXCeptional Studios administrator will be notified if a player progresses 2/3 (at the time, section 100; Red on Red) of the way through the tower, and may enter the server to verify that the player is not cheating.
  • In the 69th section, Smashing, it was replaced with "Nice" rather than 69. This is a reference to how 69 is the holy number of memes. The 169th section also has been replaced with "1NICE" similarly.
  • In the 66th section, Corner Catch Zone, it is replaced with "666" rather than 66. It is the reference to the devil's number.
