start (Revamped) is a section created by uwuPyxl and was added on March 3rd, 2023 and removed on March 7th, 2023.

Information[]

This gray section is designed into four quadrants (specified below) and is meant to look like a city block. There is a gray "street" that separates quadrants 1 and 2 from 3 and 4, and there are two alleys that separate quadrant 1 from 2 and 3 from 4.

There is a set of phantom blocks leading up to the side of quadrant 3. The other side of quadrant 3 has a glass bridge from the TV room to the top of quadrant 2 and freespinning blocks that go from the top of quadrant 2 to the top of quadrant 3.

Between quadrants 1 and 2, there is another glass bridge from the bank floor of quadrant 2 to the stall's "cave" in quadrant 1. There are 2 truss pillars to reach the top of quadrant 1, and another path using a vine above the bridge attached to a log sticking out from quadrant 1.

Between quadrants 1 and 4, there is a wind propulsion mechanic near the middle that propels players from the ground to the top of quadrant 1. There is a brown block that allows players to jump from the stalls of quadrant 1 to the top (ball pit) of quadrant 4. There is an elevating local that elevates players from the brown block to the top of quadrant 1.

In the middle of the section are 2 rotating platforms that allow players from quadrants 1 or 3 to jump to any quadrant.

There are 2 ways to complete the section. First, the player could either get to the top of quadrant 1 and jump on the blocks to reach the end platform. The second is to get to the top of quadrant 3 and walk on the flat staircase to get to the other side of the end platform.

Quadrant 1: Pyx's Gears & Pixy's Mutators[]

This quadrant is meant to mimic a rectangular natural rock formation. The top of the quadrant is covered in grass, with moss hanging off the sides. There is a water feature placed against the section wall and 4 white blocks leading to the end platform. Inside the quadrant is a cavern accessible from both sides, featuring two interactive stalls with three crates between them.

The stalls face towards the middle; the one towards quadrant 4 is "Pyx's Gears". It has a front-sloping blue, white, and orange roof with an attached L-shaped front counter and two attached shelves in the back. In the middle of the stall is an R15 humanoid avatar of Pyx, the YXceptional mascot, with R15 animations. From Pyx's perspective, there is an hourglass to the right on the desk and a signboard on the left that says "SALE", with a gear on rotation. Further to the left is a fusion coil. On the far back right, a speed coil is on the crate. Closer in under the shelf is an orange coil; above it on the first shelf is a hook; and above it on the second shelf is a gravity coil. On the back left, a trowel is on the top shelf.

The other stall towards quadrant 2 is "Pixy's Mutators". It has a rear-sloping roof that drapes in the back as a backdrop, only one attached shelf in the back, and a separate front counter with a shelf under it. In the middle of the stall is an R15 humanoid avatar of Pixy, with R15 animations. From Pixy's perspective, there is a Low Gravity mutator in front on the desk, and to the left is a cash register. Under the register is the Foggy mutator. To the right on the desk is a display stand that says "SALE", with a mutator on rotation. To the far right is the Double Coins mutator, a potted shrub, and a crate with the Invisibility mutator on it. To the far left is the bunny hop mutator on top of one of the 3 crates. From left to right on the back shelf: Invincibility, Extra Time, Checkpoints, Negative, and Double Jump. From left to right on the ground: High Speed and Lengthen.

Quadrant 2: Pÿrx's Bank & Tower Portal[]

This quadrant features a bank on the second floor. There is a wind propulsion shaft embedded in the corner near the middle to reach it. The second floor features a light gray floor and windows on the walls and the roof. In the center area of the section wall is a large vault door for purely cosmetics and two ATMs with a shrub to the right, all of which are cosmetics.

To the left of the vault door is Pÿrx's workspace, with an R15 humanoid avatar of Pÿrx. From Pÿrx's perspective, there is a partition wall to the left, 24 safe deposit boxes in the back (4 rows, 6 columns), and a shrub in the back left. In front is a light gray counter, and on top of it is a computer monitor, wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, name plate, and a darker gray decorative countertop with blue and orange stripes. Under the desk to the right is the computer case, and to the left is a small vault, similar to the model used in The Vault. Clicking it will open the vault for a short time to reveal a Bloxy Cola. Clicking it will equip the player with one.

On top of the glass roof is the YXceptional logo and the portal to either Pro Towers or Noob Towers against the wall.

Quadrant 3: Building with Television[]

This quadrant is meant to mimic a high-rise building. It has gray walls, dark gray rectangular blocks to mimic rooms with lights off, and neon rectangular blocks to mimic rooms with lights on. On the very bottom are boarded-up panels. The third floor has an interior with glass on the sides, a balcony on one side, and a glass bridge on the other. Inside is a blue L-shaped sofa, a potted plant, a coffee table with a console controller on it, a TV unit with neon accents, a home console, and a flatscreen TV displaying a moving screensaver with the YXceptional logo. It is possible to sit on the sofa or on top of the TV.

On the very top of the building is a grid of square phantom parts that slowly disappear only when a player touches them. Standing on a platform for too long will make you fall into the room.

Quadrant 4: Minesweeper & Ball Pit[]

This quadrant has a "ballpit" on the roof of the quadrant, containing one small gold ball and one large blue ball, and a gray and green wall to keep the balls on the roof; the green parts are presumed to mimic a hedge wall. On the bottom, there is a staircase on ground level that leads to a lounge inside the quadrant that has two couches and, on the floor, is a 7 by 7 version of the popular minigame known as Minesweeper.

The goal of Minesweeper is to reveal all squares of the board except the ones with mines, using clues via the numbers in the squares to help. The number reveals how many mines are next to it in a 1 square radius (8 squares total: 4 directly adjacent to the square and 4 diagonal). Beating the minigame or revealing a mine resets the board to a new randomized mine layout with all squares hidden.

Like Tic Tac Toe and Tetris Game Night, the minigame is server-sided, meaning anybody from the server can play along, and all inputs are recorded and shown to the other players.

Removal[]

This section was replaced with the previous start section due to the community feedback. It was met with major criticism, people have argued that:

  • The section is too busy- the community preferred the simplicity of the original start.
    • Section complexity doesn't make it feel like it fits in.
  • Section causes more or too much lag.
  • It takes longer to reach the end platform.
  • Randomized spawn positions add complexity or unfamiliarity.
  • No more ladder flick causes preference for the original start.
  • Too many activities draw people away from the rest of the tower; it should be placed at the top of the tower.
    • "It should be a start, not a lobby".
  • The humanoid R15 avatars are creepy, cringe, etc.

Trivia[]

  • This section was removed only 4 days after being added, making it the shortest-lived section.
  • This is the first section to feature:
    • Its own unique sound effects.
    • Animated humanoids.
    • Seat parts.
    • The current start section is the second section to feature all three traits as well; however, it shares the same sound effects with this section.
  • For an unknown reason, the "X" button in the user interfaces is invisible but still functional with the transparent background selected.
  • Opening the bank or the stalls' user interfaces with your camera too close to your avatar will automatically make the camera zoom out a little.
  • Unlike the original start section, the lengthen mutator will teleport your avatar to the exact position in relation to the section.
  • The console next to the TV is the same model as the console in the first version of House, with the YXceptional logo. The only difference is that the circle in House has a pulsing-color glow while the one in the start has a solid orange glow.
  • The computer mouse on Pÿrx's desk is to the left of the keyboard, implying that Pÿrx is left-handed or ambidextrous.
  • It is possible to push the large blue ball in Quadrant 4 out of the roof using a trowel with the truss skill.
